I finally got out this morning but I could have stayed home. I got a lot of junk and saw that they had set up for a big volleyball tournament so the hunting should be good there tomorrow but today.... not so good for me. The water was still a little too rough for me so I only hunted along the edge in the wet sand and the dry sand. I only saw one other hunter this morning and either I scared the poor guy or he didn't want to talk to me. I tried to go say hello and introduce myself but when I got close he just went faster and faster so I FINALLY got the message to leave him alone. What a dunce I am!

I found the usual junk this morning.

And got a few coins too.

Total for this morning was $1.58, a "church" key, a key ring (thought it was a ring for a minute) and can't forget my usual pull tabs and bottle caps. All in all.... it was a good day.

With all those pull tabs, im surpised there are no golden objects in there. You seem to be doing it right, but keep gettin ripped off by the luck of the draw.

Raising my glass to ya right now! thanks for posting! :thumbsup:b

looks like a good day to me!! I can't imagine anyone not wanting to have you introduce yourself! I would very much like to have that chance. Oh well.....their loss for sure! Glad to see you got out and found some goodies and had a nice time. Better luck next time on the rings! ~hugs~

You did good.

All I got was 42 cents. two pennies, one dime, one nickel and a quarter. The quarter I found in the parking lot on top of the ground. LOL

Getting out is half the fun. There is always tomorrow. :icon_pirat:

Nice church key, they are hard to find in stores anymore....I'm hitting the beach also next weekend to see what TS Fay washed up....HH

You did well mumszie! Looks like a regular day of detecting. You just didn't pass over any jewelry. Keep swinging away and sooner or later some rings will find there way into your scoop. Nice job!

Boy thorny, I am more then willing to share any thing I know about MD'ing but you would have picked the WRONG person! If you have followed my posts on t-net you will see that I rarely find anything good. Now check out some of these other guys and their finds. THEY are the ones to ask.

You're way tooooooo modest Mumszie! Skill and technique will only take a person so far, then you have to rely on lady luck to put that goodie under your coil. Right time, right place counts for a lot. Looking at your finds, your doing it right, just haven't been lucky enough to pass your coil over the cheese yet. Perseverance will get you there soon and until then, the thrill of the hunt is priceless....... :icon_sunny:

it all adds up

Like Halfspeed said its all luck ! I went out this weekend and racked up a very fine collection of bottle caps unfortunately my Sony digital camera had a major failure so I will not be able to post all those lovely colored caps which I am becoming very fond of...LOL

I admire you, mumzie. Anyone but a true blue-blooded treasure hunter would have tossed their detector in the ocean after more than 2 days without gold, especially looking at the gold finds of the other beach hunters around here. You have a drive and a passion, and may you never lose the fire!!
