Just so happens the guy who sells us concrete is a huge collector. I went to hang out with him and talk artifacts and had a great time. He has some of the best points I’ve ever seen. He styled me out with some cases, a sweet magnifying glass/light combo, some books, and this beautiful central Texas Langtry. We also talked a lot about pay digs in Texas. Does anyone have experience with these? Anyway here’s some of my favorite Indiana pieces finally in a frame. Also including a picture of this epic banner stone he had. Hopefully these pics don’t come out sideways. I’m not sure how to upright them. 59634750-DFC7-4809-BBC8-172029DBFEC5.jpeg61A7EFE9-3112-4B40-99DD-44D92E07A57B.jpeg446F1BC2-CD13-499A-951D-45C2EE766636.jpeg9BBAAF34-196C-4F62-B5A3-0BC02781630D.jpeg9411B081-E26D-47C9-A36A-0AE6852EDF05.jpeg85B3CDBA-20A4-4D49-972B-6C3FBA572272.jpeg58FB4D87-8E91-484C-8045-6633F03FB2AC.jpeg

Nice frames! My pics are always sideways too. I've heard of the Texas pay sites, Hill Country had some when I was there.

When I click the pics they open up the right way which is probably more important than the thumbnail being right side up and the big picture sideways in my opinion.

Pay digs, I have a buddy in Dallas who hit pay digs every weekend in for many years in Central Texas. He has an amazing collection, but he spent a lot time and money to get it. The lower priced hand digs can be fun, but you aren’t going to find much spectacular stuff unless you really dig a lot and find rare pockets of dirt that wasn’t previously dug and screened. You will find a lot of tools, broken points, exhausted points, etc. The higher priced pay digs were usually north of $200 a day, and there were days were you got skunked. There were also days were people found cornertangs and giant Texas points.

TJ Jennings used to put on some good digs, he spent a lot of time and money getting leases, and word spread about the good digs and they were often fully booked. If you google his name you’ll see some YouTube videos and links to people’s finds.

Thanks for the info Joshua. Ever since my buddy told me about them the idea has been swirling around in my head. It almost seems like cheating when a skid loader brings all the dirt for you! It sounds like a nice vacation activity, Texas hill country is some of the most beautiful in the country!

If you are taking your pics with an Iphone, take them with the phone long ways (holding it side to side) instead of up and down. I had the same problem with my pictures posting the wrong way, until I figured out how to hold the phone. Now, they all post upright. Nice finds and frames. Items always look better when they are displayed in a frame, or just displayed somehow, for others to enjoy.
