Finally got out for a decent hunt around a circa 1920 house, must have had some decent karma going as the owner of the house (a rental) ,also offered to let me do his own yard without me even asking! "Anytime", he said even if he isn't home! ...No silver today but felt good to get out after over a week (even though my back does not agree).
Found: 1894 Indian cent, 1916-S,1919-D,1918,1920(2),1929 and four later wheats. Found and early Girl Scout pin in same hole as one of the 1920's wheats: it doesn't say "GSA" , just "GS". Briggs and Stratton key old lead toy aviator with a lot of original paint. The most interesting find is a gold-plated copper letter opener that has writing on both sides advertising a Washington D.C. patent lawyer's brochures. One side says, " Compliments of Clarence A. O'Brien, Registered Patent Attorney opposite U.S. Patent Office , Washington D.C." The other says, "Patents Trademarks & Copyrights, correspondence invited, My booklet on this procedure for lawyers only, sent free on request."
