Well got back in my favorite pond today for a few hours, ended the day with golds 40 and 41 from this pond that no one swims in anymore 14k band and an unmarked gold signet ring that tested good for 10k and i think its an old one at that. also a sterling ring and an old doorbell, any ideas as to how old it is?

Nice goin', Plymouthian!

The rings are beauties...and the door bell is a great find! At the house I lived in as a kid, we had a doorbell exactly like the one that you found; it had a slender handle in the center that , when twisted, made a bell sound. It was on the second floor tenants' door , and my sisters and I would go and ring it just to hear that bell sound...must've driven the tenants crazy.:nono:

The house was constructed in the 1920's, but I'm quite sure this style door bell dates back further than that.

Congrats on fine detecting!

p.s. I'll try to find out what the lettering on the silver ring is , and get back to you.

the chinese ring says "something....hao" . "hao" means "good", so the ring probably has to do with luck or good fortune.....

Kool rings is the good luck ring silver?
