2nd trip.
Went to the creek today for more testing and adjusting. Finally getting things looking good on the gold hog mat's. Lot's of black sand and a little bit of gold. Next week we'll try a different spot on the creek where we know more gold is hiding. We didn't want to waste time in good areas while getting the proper angle and flow figured out.
Sorry no cleanup pics of gold, we're saving all the cons after a quick pan to check things out, then into the bucket. Final cleanup this winter will be fun.

Getting down and dirty....

I would rather position myself laying down with a mask on .. Better for my knees and back ; plus i could see better what im doing so more can be done !!

Mike is that the jet log you built? if it is it looks like its working every well job well done!

Bill

Mike why are you using your jet out of the water? wouldn't it work better under water...............plus that uphill part just before the jet seems like it would be prone to plugs. Im glad to see you got it built and using it!

Yea, that's the quad jet I built, little bugger really sucks for a 2-1/2" with a small pump. A standard nozzle jet or jet log would need a much bigger(heavier) pump than I have to equal it.

I was trying different hose angles to see what has the best performance. In the picture I was trying out how well it sucks with the hose level from the jet to the flair and also how fast the water was without an uphill slope to the sluice after the jet.

Going back out Weds. for another run in better ground.....and a few more tests. We were on some ground that isn't as rich as our usual area......lot's of black sand and some gold in the mats and the tailings are showing no gold and very little back sand so I guess that's good :dontknow:
We didn't want to be blowing gold out of the box before we had a decent chance with a bit more knowledge first.

Dang that's a nice lil rig. :)
Very nice build!

Thanks for the encouragement guys, I've since made some mods to the setup. I cut the sluice from 6' to 4' and rearranged the mats....so far so good. More black sands and yellow flakes of some kind :hello2:

Sal and I made a major hole in the creek. Started at 6" of water and ended +3' down and+6' long.

Sorry again for no gold porn, we're saving up all our cons for a fun winter clean up. We just fast pan each clean out to see some encouragement

By the way we found a hot dryland spot and that's all I can say for now.....now I need another light pump.

You will get more done if you are tossing rocks back on clean bedrock then on top of other paydirt if is Possible .. Plus you are more on the safe side from being hit from a rock while you have your head down Into the deeper part of the water. Safety should always be on our mind while being happy to be finding gold ..

Bill , do you have a backhoe??? hint hint!:)

Russ How did you know what I was thinking WINK WINK!!!! not yet. Just some thing else to work on. I did have guy here the other day from next door with a kumastu PC300 with a claw he said he had a 42" bucket for it I told him Dang it man I could us a hole about 20' x 15'deep across the creek.:BangHead::censored:
