Did pretty good yesterday. A friend of mine who lives in a neighboring town called me and wanted me to come check out some old mason jars he had found because he thought I might be interested in buying them.
They were pretty common so I passed on the jars.
Anyway, seeing how I was already in the next town over, I decided to do a mini-road trip since I had already driven over there. It was 4:00 so I didn't have much time to hunt. Only had time to hit three banks before they all closed at 5:00.
The first bank gave me the old "We don't have/keep those coins here."
The second bank refused to sell me coins unless I had an account there. Pfffft!
The last place I went had $80.00 worth in the vault. I assumed it was a dump, especially when I saw the brand new wrappers they were in. As I hauled them out to the car I was sure I was going to get skunked. I did $830.00 worth two days before that I picked up at a Wells Fargo and those were all skunks so I wasn't getting my hopes up, especially with these being in the new-looking wrappers.
Anyway, I started looking through them as I was driving home. This is MUCH WORSE than texting and driving IMO. I was quite excited to find 2 Franklin halves, a '64 Kennedy, and 8 40%er's.
