Finally found another detectorist

Went to a small park this morn , first thing I saw was holes , dirt thrown around , some holes partially filled in . Looks like someone used a shovel at least 8 in wide to dig holes about a foot wide. Then left most unfilled. Spent most of my morning filling and cleaning someones else mess !!!!!!! This is the first time I have seen signs of any one else with md in this area . And , not a pretty site !!! Any one else had this experience ?

Myself, and another member of this site recently went to a park that is kind of hidden. I had done well there in the past, but had not been there in years (about 7) after we got the coils swinging, I started noticing that someone had been digging. There were 3-7inch plugs that had been dug out. But atleast who ever it was did a good job of filling in thier holes. I think if it had not been a very wet area, we probably wouldn't have noticed them.

I did run into a guy years ago in the Seattle area that used a short #2 shovel (Garden shovel) He mage GIANT holes! suprisingly he did a good job of filling them in.

If you ever run into the person who laid the mine field there, you may want to show them the right way to dig a target & fill the hole, rather than read them the riot act. You'll attract more bee's with honey than vinigar. We need all the positive feedback we can get.
