A short hunt before getting rained out at my virgin colonial site yielded my 6th colonial coin. This time it's a New Jersey copper.
The date was easily visible a 1786. I know there are several varieties of this coin, but I don't know the differences so any comments on it
would be welcomed. E Pluribus Unum on front with shield, Horsehead/plow with Nova Caesarea on obverse. I also found a reale, but it's severely worn. I'll take it, though!:headbang: Oh, The reale is dime-size. HH and Thanks

new jersey copper and a reale!, wow great hunt, you guys are all out there killing it lately, I need to brush the dust off and get back out

great finds!!

Thanks, you also posted some great finds from Philly recently as I recall.

yeah, thank you, its been a little while, im dying for some more! lol

Yes you should be ashamed of yourself for posting these modern coins.. Congrats I'm still trying to find any colonial copper

I think it's an M-14j or an M-15j. Obverse has enough to be id'd I think. I'll wait for Don to confirm as both have the same reverse.

Love seeing the NJ coppers. I have a lot of NJ pride, but it hasn't translated into finding one myself, try as I might. Congrats!

Sweet colonial goodies. I hope there is more still at your site. If the silver is dime-size, you have a half real.

Congratulations on finding a 1786 Maris 14-J variety, a common variety, it will be about the 26th one found for that variety in the survey. The straighter mane vs the 15 Obv and also what told me for sure it was a Maris 14 Obverse is that the A in NOVA is much higher in relation to the left ear than on the Maris 15 Obverse......... Could you please PM (msg) me the state and county found in for my survey. Thanks Don

Knew it was one of the 2, but because the obverse was sketchy I couldn't figure out the differences between the 2. The only Jersey I ever found was a 14j.

That's two coins that chase the clouds away and make a day a little brighter

Great job on the NJ Copper, it looks to be in fairly nice shape. Still looking for one from NJ myself

Two Great finds on one hunt, Congrats!!

The day I found my Conn. Copper the kid found a Reale, I know how your feeling about now. Lol Probably haven't left either coin out of your sight. Sweet...

Nice! Congrats!
I'm still looking for one.
