Well as the title states my last 2 hunts with the latest one with Hunthicks in the pouring rain... Started out raining on an off on a site that had real potential but the cut corn stalk wouldn't let you get a good swing in, may be worth a return trip in the spring...nothing really found there so we headed off to an old stomping ground that always seems to give up some goodies... There are a few french coins in the mix which are pretty much toasty and a cut up 6 deniers was only made between 1710 and 1712 so it narrows down the site to a nice time frame, too bad as the detail is really good for a cooper... The others include Geo the II's and 2 trade and navigation tokens... 1812 and 1820....also what appears to be an iron sword hanger piece along with a thin piece of gold plated victorian jewelry ...

Great finds congrats!

wow! really awesome finds! I love the brass buckles and the coins!

All in all a pretty good group of finds!

Finding a chunk of a French coin is better than not finding anything at all, good going P!

There's another french you sure don't see dug too often, it is a bit of a shame.
That small oval buckle, is it light guage, not too heavy ? Think I got the same somewhere.

What is that circle piece with the threads on the bottom of it? I found one identical to that only mine looks like an inch or two longer

Fantastic stuff, Patriot! I love those coppers, man. I haven't seen a couple of those before.

guessing something for horse and wagon... have found lots of those...

Fantastic stuff. Makes me jealous. I have been in 3 sites approximately the same age with tons of flat buttons, thimbles, cloak clasps and on and on and not one coin. Awesome finds.:icon_thumleft:

That sometimes happens, I'm thinking of one site in particular, had all kinds of old and interesting stuff, bells, buttons, jews harps, etc. but not a single coin. Goes to show that many people were carefull with their money, furthur more many sites have no silver, we often expect it, but it is just not there. Appreciate the good sites folks they are getting fewer every day.

That french coin is pretty cool, I think that site has a few surprises left given the size of it! We have some time left to get a few new sites this year and hopefully lots of silver!
