Dug my first pre 1900 coin today. Just off a sidewalk on a small town road that is no longer used. It's not the best specimen but I love it! 1892 V nickel. This is my first old nickel as well. Nothing but Jeffersons up to this point. Was very disappointed that this site did not produce any silver but it was still a fun day. IMG_20170305_172205834.jpgIMG_20170305_172130474.jpg

That is a bucket lister for me. Congrats.
You and me both! That was the first thing I said to my wife. "I just dug a bucket lister!" Lol

Thanks everyone!

Nice find. Since it is not a key date, you could clean this up rather well with a little vinegar

Congratulations on your first 1800s coin and it's especially nice for it to be a V Nickel! :icon_thumright:

Congrats and welcome to the 1800s club sir!

Usually when a V nickel shows up, Indians are near by. I'm uncertain if you have found one of those yet, but they ring in lower than a zinc cent. Make sure that you keep your ear out for a signal like that. Maybe a 77 or 78 on the ATP.

Congrats and best of luck to you.

Congratualtions on the V-nickle!

Congrats! Love finding old nickels especially when you can get enough details off of them. Great work!

Congrats! That's definitely on my list of coins I'd love to find. They're so cool looking.
