I slept late today, and didn't leave the house to hunt until around 10:00. :-\ I had a small window to hunt until I had to take my mom home from surgical rehab. Watercolor had a new spot in the woods that he wanted to hit, so we stopped there since the weather was so beautiful. After over an hour and a half of nothing, we decided to relocate in the same general area. On the way back to the car, I was swinging and came across this Bowman Dairy 1/2 pint milk bottle. It was just lying on the surface waiting to be picked. I have found at least 60 or 70 broken necks, and have been looking for a whole bottle ever since I started hunting in the woods. This one is amazingly clean - crystal clear with only a few knocked-together-in-the-case dings and no pearling. :)

We moved to a different area, and after five minutes, I got a weird signal by a tree in a clearing. About six inches deep, I found this Barber dime. Joe, this next photo is for you!

While checking the area for more coins, I got another signal between two big trees. I dug down about four inches and there was a sterling bracelet with the letter "E" on it. It had been whacked with the mower before it submerged, but I straightened it out a little after I cleaned it. It weighs in at .4 oz on the postal scale.

All in all, it was a good day. I feel a little bit redeemed after coming up short yesterday at the big city park. Thanks for checking my finds out and HH!!!

You had a great hunt today with that sterling bracelet & Barber plus, that sweet half-pint

I know you've been wanting to find one of those, intact, for the longest time. . . you might have to wait
a bit longer for the pint & quart ones. . . the winters are not kind to those at all.

Aw man, that sure brings back memories of grade school in the city. We had our lunch milk delivered to our rooms. 4 rooms- K through 8th, 110 kids total. When you reached 8th grade you got to be a milk del. boy. All the extras from absentees we got to chug down back in the kitchen. Chocolate of course!

Really cool bracelet too Neil! And the Barber, WOW! :o Gotta love hunting the quiet woods after a day in the city.

Them frost heaves do great bottily harm to the larger milks. The small creamers like yours can be had aplenty in the right spots.

Great digs again!

AWESOME FINDS NEIL,WTG!

Awesome find bud, I have only found broken ones. The only othe whole one that I seen was the one MikeWaz found in the woods, then he gave it to me. It is a Maywood Dary, Maywood IL.

Sweet finds. I bet the mosquitos were bad. D-dub and I tried locating the 1800's schoolhouse yesterday with no luck.....and the mosquitos didn't care that we bathed in deet. Maybe two more days of prospecting to find that old schoolhouse. Once again, Congrats!

Nice Barber and cool bottle. Did you guys those bottles on the same day???
Mike
