I had an outing in Phoenix and what started as a mediocre day turned into a bucket lister find. Two tokens, a common car wash token and an Alabama luxury tax token circa 1930's, four Wheat pennies, a marble, a piece of jewelry shaped like a flower bud, a souvenir penny from Sedona, and an 1889 o Morgan silver dollar about 9 or 10 inches deep. Pictures of before and after cleaning. The before pictures show it cleaned with soap and water. No effect at all because the soil here destroys silver. Very happy with this bucket lister. The scratch on the face was not from me but was probably like that when it was lost. A beautiful day to be out in Arizona. Thanks for looking and good luck out there. Gee it only took 45 years to get that monkey off your back? Congrats

I'm still trying after 50 and that sucker is so attached to me I've think it's going into the will.

Still on my wish list,very nice.

great hunt, thanks for posting. still looking for my first Morgan

Congrats,

Little brother just dug one two weeks ago at a pounded park 01 0 in amazing condition.

He called me about 5 times out of the woods to come check it out. He was like 37 on the Nox I was like Morgan right. He was like how'd you know.

Took him about 20 years to find his first one. Very exciting moment for sure. I've been fortunate in 27 years I've dug about 10 of them.

Yessir! What a great find! Congratulations! other nice finds, too! Thanks for sharing.

A coin that most people in our hobby will never dig - a fantastic find for sure - congrats ! :occasion14:

Congrats on that big silver piece of roundness :icon_thumleft:
I'm 35 years into the hobby and still haven't found one, although I do spend most of my time on sites where your wouldn't find one.

still on mine too, 22 years. but I like someone else digging them, because I know they are still there, great find

As someone who almost solely digs 1790-1860 sites that is a coin I doubt I will ever see in my plug! After 45 years of digging you very much deserve that find!

I started tectin' in 1984 but really didn't do hardly any from 1990ish to 2009 when a hot spot opened up out here. I found my first, a 1887o that year. The hot spot really got me back into the hobby and I bought some new equipment and that helped me enjoy the hobby even more. In 2017, I found a 1891 morgan. Then, in 2018, I found a 1900o morgan. My first, the 1887o is trashed! the 1891 is very well circulated, but not as near trashed from corrosion. The 1900o is evern a little nicer. I cleaned the first one as, believe it or not, you couldn't tell it was a silver dollar, but then left the other two with their unique character of a little blackened or greyed in areas.
I hope I lose count at double digits like JerV3!
Anyway, welcome to the club and may you find #2 soon! Thanks for postin'

What was your first thought when you realized what it was? It is INCONCEIVABLE that someone would lose one and not know it. For anyone that hasn’t physically handled one....they are STUPIDLY big and heavy! It’s great you were able to finally put the check mark in the box, it’s an awesome coin just as it is! Congratulations!!!

Congratulations!!!:headbang::occasion14:
