I went back to a small site I got permission to MD today to pass some time. The first time there I didn't find much other than remnants of the house that was destroyed by a tornado. I hadn't been there 10 minutes and a lady drove up and asked if I wanted to MD at an old house just up the street. When we got there she said she does a bit of detecting and understands how hard it is to get permission these days. Turns out she was remodeling the house and is good friends with the owner who grew up there and now rents it out. Surprisingly enough the yard wasn't full of trash like every other place I have been to and I finally found my first silver! I found two Roosevelt dimes, a 57 and a 61 and three wheat pennies, 1918, 40s and an early 50s and a handful of recent Lincolns. image-3815633457.jpg

I couldn't believe my eyes when I seen the shiny object in the bottom of the hole when I flipped over the plug I had neatly dug. I had read that silver can look just as good as the day it was dropped when dug but I was still surprised how good of condition it was in. The 1961 dime I found next to a giant oak tree stump was nearly in the same condition with the exception of being slightly bent and nicked from being struck by a mower blade.

Thats a real beauty.Congrats.HH.

Nothing like silver to brighten your day! Congrats!
