I have been hunting some woods close to my house and found a nice spot that has had some activity. I have found Civil War and prior. Had a pretty good day today.
I found one back when I first started metal detecting and it was in worse shape than this one. I have been waiting for another. This one is rough and someone has hammered straight edges on it for some reason. I can only make out the first and last number for the date 1__9.
This was an interesting button, it is a 2 piece button with the shank on the back. I think that is rust on the front.
This flat button is small but looks really cool with that symbol on the front.
Not sure what this one is, I believe its solid brass. Some sort of collar pin?
These woods had a lot of small tree's close together making it hard to swing a coil. The buttons I have found have either disintegrated or came out of the ground in very rough shape. I managed to find this New York cuff in one piece.
A thimble and the second photo, I'm not sure. Its small and brass, has the hook on the bottom.
Another small button and this other piece looks like it was from a very fancy buckle. I wasn't able to find the rest of it.
I have found a close to 50 bullets so far, some are Washington Arsenal's
This last photo shows what I have been able to find from this spot so far. Thanks for looking. HH.
