I always see threads with people finding really nice looking old fans. I have wanted one ever sense, preferably a GE but have not come across one yet. I did have one about a year ago that was some other brand and my sister wanted it because it matched her husband's antique car whatever kind it is I don't remember. So I gave it to her because it was that old 50s teal color. I went out yesterday on Saturday and this guy had a whole bunch of new stuff in his house I figured probably going to be a waste of time. (IKEA,Walmart, target, collection type )I go out in the garage and inside of a box that said old fan on it. Inside of it was this...

A nice looking Westinghouse. I believe the paint is original it's actually still pretty shiny In some parts. I haven't really cleaned it up yet , but it's a keeper! And it works great!!

When I asked the guy how much he told me I could have that old piece of junk for $5!!

I have an Igloo (?) we've had for 35 yrs. Use it every day in summer. Pushes more air than a box fan. Just have to remember to keep the kids away from it (it sits on top of 5' dresser) and to oil it once a year. Nice find.

you win! I got two older fans than that, I am afraid to use them, last time I plugged one in it started to smoke:laughing7:

I had one I plug it in and it shocked the Livingston snot out of me! I sold it to my neighbor for 25 bucks. He came over the next day and told me hey it's a nice fan but I about got electrocuted plugging it in! I told him no kidding I told you that before I sold it to you.... :)
