Finally! 1st Silver Coin of 2013 is Also First Barber Ever!

Having a very short vacation driving around TX and OK. Went to an old park in Denison, Texas today (just happened to drive past it), and took the detector out. After two minutes I finally had not only my first silver coin of 2013 (I've been lucky to find some silver rings already this year), but also my first Barber ever, a 1903 dime.

After that, searched for another 2 hours at least and -- as so often seems to happen -- found no more, nor very many coins at all, none old. Did find this cool old lock, though (if anybody knows its age, lemme know). Thanks for reading and HH!

I sure don't remember the name, but it was pretty large and had a big gazebo in the center, near the downtown part and across the street from a VFW or AmVets post. It's a big park, I'm sure you know it. Note that I found the Barber almost under one of the old benches. Very trashy, but seemed to be about the only spots that weren't completely hunted out. Good luck!

Nice Find ! My first Barber was a 1903 as well ! Anytime you cross another "type coin" off your list it's a good day - and 110 year old
silver is the cat's pajamas !
