Hi folks,
Finally got out today. It was great to be out even though the ground is still
frozen solid.I got permision to hunt a huge corn field where we suspected
there may be old home sites. I was just going to try to locate one of these
for when the frost goes out, and within 15 minutes I was getting tons of
iron signals.Before to long I got a good hit, I tried digging and right under
the surface was a large copper.I cleaned it a little and it was toast.
The coin is smooth, no detail.
So I continued and another good penny signal, again just about on the
surface,thought it was an indian head and put it in the pocket, but when I
got home and rinsed it, turned out to be a token.One side says redeemed at
my shoe store 98 broadway Albany,N.Y.
The other side has an elephant and says elephant shoe store but I cant
make out the name before it, have to do a bit more cleaning.
Anyways I cant wait for the ground to thaw, I must have had half a dozen
solid coin hits that I could not dig.I will add photos tomorrow,past my bedtime.
