Final Foxwoods Casino Numbers...

Well, I knew it was eventually going to happen, and last week it did. I bought $250 worth of halves from the cage and went to plop down at a row of machines to deposit them, and quickly saw that ALL of the .50 machines in that room had been converted to CASH ONLY. Sigh.

I talked to a floor person and found out that there will be no halves used in the slots within 2-3 weeks. It is all the same, though... whether I personally searched them out or my big mouth drew others to search, my numbers in the last four weeks have been horrible- to the tune of 1.5 40%ers per $250 searched. Not to mention, I began to see some black marker slashes through kennedy's face in the last few weeks. My sweetie tried to assuage me by saying that they must have come from outside the casino, but I had NEVER noticed marks before I made my silly posts about my triumphs at the casino. Oh well.

I did not come out empty handed, though. My casino totals for the last four and a half months are as follows:

59 Walking liberty halves
29 Frankins
280 1964 Kennedys
1424 65-69 (not ONE 70 in the lot!)
1 1776 silver proof

Pretty awesome totals; I am definately not complaining. I am just NOT looking forward to frequenting the local banks now. I am new to New England, and if the bank tellers are like the local population, it is not going to be a pleasant experience. ;-)

Well SS, it looks like you did well while the gettin was good. Those numbers for 5 months are something to be proud of! I also thought that was funny as hell what you said about dealing with the tellers up there! I run in to some of those types down here sometimes, and no, it is almost never a pleasant experience!!!! Anyhow, good luck to ya, and if you run across any more honey holes don't say a word!!Just post the pics!

The casinos have spoiled you.

I've never casino hunted before, so I really don't know what I'm talking about, but it sounds like you had a good run while it lasted. Good luck with those New England banks. Be careful not to mistake stoicism and reservation for aloofness and pride. Good people and good banks can be found there (but I do know what you're talking about.)

That is a very nice run SS. That is an awesome total from the casino. The casinos around me have no half dollar machines so I have never experienced it either. Sounds like a kick though.

There are some "so-so" tellers in all parts of the country....just try to take them with a grain of salt and keep plugging. All you can do is be as polite & courteous as you can be with them. It will work out for you.

That is incredable. I have searched casinos and I did have some luck till they went to paper. Still, nothing like your finds.

SS, LJ is correct in that there will be plenty of nice tellers up there to take care of all of your silver needs! LJ always has the ability to put things in the proper perspective. Hell, how can you argue with those numbers!!!HaHa.... Gpurs
