hi!

I found this one recently, it's about 4.5 cm long and hollow.
It seems to me that it's something kind of "zinc", not really zinc but it feels/looks like that when you look at it. It has this tiny gold tracks and it is resined (= brownish look?) i think.
Can please somebody tell me what it is or from which period it dates? :)

thanks alot!

Welcome to Treasure Net!

Do you think the face looks like it was broken off something at the neck area?

If so... maybe the handle end of a serving spoon or the like?

It looks like a childs head due to the bow in the hair...could be off a letter opener

Welcome to Tnet from the UK.

I lived in Mons for 4 years. I guess you never found it in Belgium ;)

Its not Roman or Medieval but Classical revival so probably mid- Victorian - 1850s. Decoratrative Mount for ?

hi!

actually i did found it in belgium :)
thanks for the ideas but i don't know about the gold tracks...
it doesn't seem to me that something is broken off the figure, it's flat and not damaged on the downside so i don't think it could be a spoon or a letter opener.

Thanks alot already

I have not seen any religious figures with 'bows" in their hair :)

I have, however, recently been seeing an angel with a green bandana. 8)

I still think it's the end of a utensil... I dunno...
