Hi everyone, Not much to write about this weekend. Temps were extremely cold here in P.a these past few days. I did get out sat sun and Mon though like a crazy man.

Temps were below 10 at certain times. The ground was solid in certain places also. I actually was on my own 2 out of the three days also. Not my cup of tea to be deep in the woods alone. But I'll do it if I wanna hunt.

I went to the cellar hole I have been working lately. I got 2 teen wheat's a token witch crumbled on me while cleaning. It was a savings check token worth 2 cents for a Pittsburgh bank in 1917. I have a bunch of them.

I also hit a log home were they are putting a road in. I got one unidentified coin there. Bad part was ground was rock solid and I couldn't dig deeper than three inches. They keep plowing up the dirt and finds just keep appearing.

I got a smashed piece of silver today and a nice pink colored bottle that dates to the 1890's I think. I also got a nice spoon. It was very slow though and I shouldn't have even been out. I'm under alot of stress all the time so it has to be super cold for me to stay in.

Did some driving around and spotted some potential sites though. Got some new headphones and a new treasure pouch and had to go break them in. Hopefully temps will warm up and I'll have some better finds to show you all.

I am working on 4 different stories right now for W&E magazine that are taking up alot of my time and getting a little overwhelming to me at certain times. Everyone who reads there mag look for me in some of there next current issues.

I'll tell you all about some of the stories once they all start coming to me. Don't want to give them away before they are published.

HH Jeremy

Jer, appreciate your efforts. What a selection of artifacts. Like that bottle and that fancy spoon in the second picture. Watch yourself there. Don't want you to get pneumonia ; :)! HH

Jer,

Nice hunt ;)
Looking forward to your stories!
Slow down a tad,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
no,,,wait a minute,,,sounds like good times....
Run with it and enjoy ::)

Nice finds and you are a tougher man than I to brave those temps! I have found a few of those little small gears too. Perhaps from a clock? I just toss them in with my other finds and wonder what they are. Monty

You aren't kidding anybody Jeremy...you are just trying to keep in shape for ball season. ;D Nice to hear about the stories. We will be looking forward to reading them.

Dave

Thanks alot everyone. You all are right. I need to slow down. I am one of those high struge type of people. I won't sit down till something is done.

I wanted to tell all of you if you ever need help or advice don't hesitate to ask me. I am more than happy to help out share tips and help explain anything I can about the hobby. That's what I'm here for.

I love to write and I am finally getting recognition. Feels great and I love W&E best magazine hands down.

First story will be in the best finds issue next month. I am done with that one already. But I am writing up another for there silver and gold issue also. That's the one I have to have done by 3/6 maybe a little later.

I love to treasure hunt if you all couldn't tell by now. It's something I spend alot of time doing and have a great passion for history.

You have a great memory always to remember I play ball. Can't wait till that starts up again. That's another passion of mine. I always wanted to be a pro ball player.

The fancy spoon was a really nice one but I destroyed it. I was pretty mad about it. I have been using a shovel at the site and it's almost unavoidable to not hit them. It had a dove in the handle and had a fancy design all over it.

Thanks again for all the support you all give me here.

Hi Jer,
Nice bottle. No "h" in the spelling of Pittsburgh. Should be circa 1892 to about 1912 or so. The city dropped the "h" in burgh for just a little while then added it back.
Have A Good One!

I know about your passion for baseball. I led my HS team in hitting and Led the league in pitching. Even had a Dodgers scout come and talk to me once. He wanted to see me play in College. I couldn't afford college so I went into the service and played a little semi-pro in west Texas. At the time every little town had a semi-pro team. Got shipped overseas and ruined my shoulder playing softball, and that was the end of that! Couldn't throw after hurting my shoulder. But now I'm 61 and still dream about the big leagues and what might have been. If you have a dream, chase it, and at least say you tried when you're my age! Monty

Very nice finds Jer, you have some nice hunting grounds! HH, Mike

Thanks alot everyone. You really hit the nail on the head Rtde. You guys are alot older than I am. Not putting you all down in anyway just showing my respect. I'm only 24 if you all don't know already. I have 2 kids and have been married and on my own for a long time now.

I never get a break except for detecting so I run at every chance I get. I guess this is one of the reasons why I have gotten so good at it.

Thanks for the bottle info Devil. It's something I am interested in doing in the future. I have dug out some pits and have a few hundred bottles in the basement. Learning more about them all the time.

I have alot of spots and know some good one's are waiting for me to uncover. I just can't ever seem to set the detector down.

Your right Monty. Dreams are great and that's why I am still trying to live it. You sound like you were a very good ball player in your era. I am a pitcher also and play the out field.

I get alot of respect being the smallest guy on the team but showing alot of power. When I hit a home run my team mates just die. We have alot of fun playing. The great thing is we all have known each other for years.

We played together when we were younger. Now a league has been put together and the best of us all now play with one another. The league is called NABA. It's in alot of cities now and is growing every year.

It's pretty competitive with some guys throwing 80 85 miles an hr. Were switching to wood this year also. We have a official website stats roster everything. Pretty cool to see your name and stats on the net.

Thanks Mike, It's been a challenge finding these sites. I'm not gonna lie about it. But that's what makes it great. Being a first to hit a virgin site. Or researching and actually locating it. There are alot of sites still left out there. Don't let anyone tell you there all hit. Because there not. There are still many of them out there.

Take care everyone. Glad I have a great site like this to vent at times.

HH Jeremy
