After them again at the picnic grove this am. When into the iron fields, 5in excellerator coil, all metal-ferrous sounds, digging anything that peeped high. Pulled 9 wheats (11,14(no D ),19D,17,17,20,25,32,45) and a 1905 indian. I think the older coins were out of reach since most of the wheats were right on the fringe, just barely peeping.
I think that's a record haul on wheats for me? (And on beavertails too.) Couple plain buttons, random what's its, and lots of can-slaw too.
Many of the coins were masked by the nails, but you still could hear just enough to investigate. Learned a bunch today, yesterday I was there for a while with the 8in sunray, and you can see some (not all) of what it missed.
No silver this weekend? I'll be back next weekend!!!
