Today I was working whilst Cru'dad had a short 2 hour hunt on the Field of 500. Because of the oil-seed rape stalks he could only do small areas which had been smashed around the edges. As he managed 4 Roman coins we thought we may as well have a 2 hour evening hunt, which turned up another 6 & some bits...

10 Roman Coins
Neolithic Flint
Flatten Silver Vesta Case
Pastry Jigger Wheel
Tiny Roman Plate Brooch (type I've not seen & not in my book, but yet to do a deep research, maybe representing a mirror?)

So it gave us hope for when the stalks get turned in.

All Roman Bronze Coins we get to keep/share with the Land-owner. But this field we do have an agreement with the owner to share the data with the British Museum. This is voluntary, but if we found 2 Roman Silvers in the same hole thats declarable under the terms of the Act.

very nice!
