FEW RELICS FOUND WITH EQUINOX....

Haven't watched the video yet- just got done with work- going to get changed and head out with my new Nox to a new permission just received- a church built in 1870 about 10 minutes from my house.... ;)

Will check out your video when I get back- which should be soon because it is almost dark- but tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and warm and Saturday!!!!!!!!!

Sweet finds, congratulations! :occasion14:

Awesome finds calabash... keep up the great work on the videos!!! Very informative!!! Thank you

CD,

Have you found a tone strategy yet that makes much difference in your hunting success. With the Deus you liked full tones to begin with and then found that there were advantages to pitch and even 5 tones at times.

How are you running the NOX as far as the number of tones?

5tones on my relic sites. setup like this. 1,15,20,22,25 on pitch and iron is cut down to 1. This works on sites with low modern trash for me.

Great hunt and video again. I’m assuming you keep the Park 2 tone breaks at default (0, 10, 20, 30).

Have you messed with the accept/reject, which is on the settings as you customize the program?

I’m wondering if the accept/reject works like discrimination or notch on the Deus???

I’m hoping it works like discrimination, so you could reject iron on the VDI but still hear it.

Also, it would keep the VDI conductivity numbers consistent on the good target and not blended or averaged with a piece of iron next to or touching it.

I’m using the VDI on the NOX much more than the Deus, especially for depth.

I kept them at factory default. I do find myself looking at screen more than I do with the Deus ... I need to ponder on what your saying have not thought about it ....accept and reject that is.

Ok I think that I have it figured out. Took the nox out again today for about 8 hours. Actually I have 2 800s and my cousin was using the other with me. So the accept/reject works just like notch on the Deus. If you reject a target number you will neither see it on the vdi nor hear it. There is no discrimination filters on the nox either. You can only discriminate iron by setting the first tone on a 5 Tone program to sound off at a low pitch and or low volume or no volume.

I felt like I got much better performance accepting all target ID values and setting low to no volume to the tone breaks that I didn’t want to hear than rejecting a group of target IDs.

The default for the 5 Tone program is showing target IDs rejected from -9 to 0.

For some reason I felt that I got better performance manually accepting -9 to 0 and setting the tone pitch and volume to 1.

Beware of rejecting target IDs. It’s just like the notch feature on the Deus.

Looks like you having fun, nice digs!
