First clue it isn't a real 1638 coin; the rim words: 125 Jahre Kreissparkasse Herford 1846-1971

looks like a commemorative "coin" celebrating 125 years, (125 Jahre), that the bank named "Sparkasse Herford", located in the district of Herford,
(Kreis Herford) has been in operation.

..not sure why Ferdinand III is important to the issue but,
