Went tot-lot hunting. Someone's been hunting my lots and they have their machine set for coins only, pennies, dimes and quarters. As evidenced by the amount of foil left covered. I didn't get any nickels, I guess the kids hang onto those pretty well. But, we all know what ya leave behind besides foil when you tune it out . I got me a good one . 14k , 3 diamonds, looks like an older mounting. I was using my Fisher 1266-X, it was only about 3 inches deep in the dry wood chips. I also got 3 clad dimes and a couple clothing doo dads............NGE

WTG on that ring.........now you can buy another detector :laughing9:

I'm hearing ya on having your lots hunted.....I had at least 3 years invested in the local schools and wham, bam....here comes peanut foot! He's "the other guy". I call him peanut foot because his shoe prints look like nutter butter cookies! He had the audacity to get an attitude with me one day cause I got to a school before he did! I know I don't own the rights to hunt the local schools.....first come, first serve! So I go on the weekdays and keep em cleaned out! Teach him! ;D

Glad you found a really nice left over! I love it when they miss one! :icon_thumleft:

WTG You are like me, dig everything and hope for the best. :icon_thumleft:

Sweet ring, Congrats!

Good luck,
HH.

Very nice.....................you get rewarded when you dig all targets......... :headbang:

Thanks for the accolades everyone. This is my first gold ring from a tot-lot, and I am positive it won't be my last :headbang:. Alot of my friends can't believe that my wife has not claimed it yet ::). My wife can't even wear her wedding rings anymore, her Crohn's Disease and Rheumatoid arthritis are playing hell with her knuckles :(. Jewelers advise against re-sizing her current rings any further, as the stones will be much larger than the band itself :o. 20 years ago, when I used to water hunt, she would be eagerly standing on the back porch with opened hands (fingers stretched out) waiting to see which finger or thumb, the bling would fit :laughing7:. I quit water hunting when I could no longer find anyone to go with me. So I sold all my water stuff, and became just strictly a land lubber. My best land find in the gold jewelry dept. was a 18kt. yellow gold man's pinky ring w/6, 11 point white diamonds channel set :headbang: valued at 2350.00 retail. Still have it around here somewhere. I never would water hunt alone, so I now am just a dirt farmer..........NGE

Hey, N.B.E.......what is your ratio coins to rings? Rings to time hunted? I have begun hunting tot lots where I live.....every large apartment complex has at least one. Not too old, oldest dates back into the late 70's.
I have a bushel basket of coins, toys, stuff......but no gold or silver rings.....btw, I live in S. Korea, so don't expect the same
ratio here as in the States. But, if you could give me an approximation, that would help. Thanks......keep getting the good stuff.

Hiker, you don't want to know my ratio of coins to rings but, it's somewhere around 50,000 coins to 1 gold ring in tot lots, as I have been hunting for over 40 years and this is the second gold ring I've gotten in one. These lots are very open to adults when the sun goes down. However when I got these rings I only found about 1.52 in coins..........NGE

Sweet ring! WTG :hello2:

Keep digging!

" Someone's been hunting my lots ..."

The other guy is thinking the same thing....... LOL

The tot lots around here get worked on a regular basis. Funny thing is you never see ' the other guy' who is doing it. I refer to them as the Ghost Hunters.

Once in a while I find a lot more stuff than I normally do and figure that the Ghost Hunter must have been too busy to get out. LOL

Holy Cow!!! You're right!!! I don't want to hear that!!!!! :P
Let me see, that means that, about 3 years after I die, then if there is a person still using my detector, then he/she might find
a gold ring. :tongue3: WOW!!!! Not something to plan ahead for, is it.
Seriously, thanks for the tip. I have found a few really really nice rings, including gold, where I coin hunt up in the hills. So if
I never find any in the totlots, that won't hurt my feelings too much.......besides, still hunting up in the hills.
Thanks again, and find another one REALLY QUICK.

Hey shoesfulla :tongue3: that is the truth :tongue3:. I am refering to tot lotting only! I normally don't hunt them, usually dirt fish, but when my knees are super sore, I just fing it easier to sift sand or kick chips........NGE
