What is this and what was it used for? Can you give me all the information that you know about this? It's the size of a quarter and is- I assume- brass. Thanks for your help.

It's part of a Presidential set. Over the years there have been 3 sets?? issued by different companies. Two sets were brass and one was aluminum. One was by Esso. I don't who did the others. Tony

Shell Oil Company did another in the late 60s or early 70s.
You received them with a fill-up.
Some were instant winners: $5.00 (as I recall--maybe other amounts).
There was also a 'big' prize for collecting the entire series.

Well, your token is newer than the listing you found (obviously, since it has FDR) likely the 1960's or 70's. I'm not sure that it's part of the same set, but the same idea.
