I had a little time to hunt today, and found the perfect location for it. A neighbor down the street got me several sites out in the country, including the house he grew up in and his sister now owns. Today was hot, and this property features two large oaks in the front yard; I figured a nice shady spot was perfect for conditions outside. I got in about an hour before thunder started to rumble, but I couldn't ask for a better hour, all things considered. I didn't expect old silver; the house was built in 1941, but I expected some silver and wasn't disappointed. I found a 39 and 42 Merc, 61D Rosey and 65 Canadian dime (80% silver) in addition to seven other Roosevelts from 65 and 66. I also found five wheats, including a 28D and 37. There were no memorial pennies! Easy digging, and what clad I found were all dimes! There is still a lot of searching to do at this house, including a clothesline in the back; the front yard, under one of the oaks, served as a school bus stop, which might explain all the dimes. It's also being prepared as a rental, which means I won't be bothering any occupants. The woman who owns the house is real nice, and was happy to share helpful information about the neighborhood. I wouldn't be surprised to pick up a few more houses out there.
