I found this in the glacial till in Central IL. It looks like an agate but I didn’t see any bands. If it hadn’t been broken in half I never would have thought it was anything. I’ve seen guys on YouTube cutting similar looking agates from Africa.
I think it looks more like a “brain” than it does agate. Just some kind of quartz. It was very hard. There’s enough to make a couple of small cabs. I’ll be looking for more of these at the river. Hopefully larger sized.
