NE Okla. find, I think it's sandstone, but maybe a type of shale? I know most of our fossils are Pennsyilvian, but I know rock formations can be deceptive....I'm hoping for a fossil ... 033.JPG

My guess is that this is an ichnofossil or trace fossil. Something (probably an invertebrate) burrowed through the mud, leaving the sediment disturbed as you found it. Many of these ichnofossils are named. Do a search for "Pennsylvanian ichnofossils" and see what you get.
