Went to an old high school in a little town yesterday. Didn't do too bad. Found this silver ring. Isn't it funny how a perfectly sane person will start talking to themselves when they pop a nice ring out of the ground? About thirty coins, nothing old. Maybe next time. Last pick is mystery coin (see in "What is it")

Very nice ring! :D I went out for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon. Hit the school we went to right before lunch. They had mowed the playing field. Nothing but clad and no big silver rings either! :(

I got kinda nice place to go next time you can get out. I have been there twice and done pretty well. 3 wheats, 1 merc, nice silver bracelet.

That coin was beaten with a spoon to make a ring. A very popular practice in the 60"s. It was so popular that when you walked down the hall in high school you could hear people between classes beating on them everywhere. After a month or so, so many spoons were missing from the cafaterias that the schools gave out automatic suspentions if you were caught making a ring on school grounds. Some ?kids were even robbing there parents coin collections but most were using quarters and halves which were at that time mostly silver. True story! I know I made about 5 rings! ;) ;D

doesn't look real comfortable when finished ether does it? I think I am gonna have to try it though.

Nice finds! My brothers use to do that. They always made them from walking libertys and franklin half dollars. HH

I'm going to try it too. That is neat. I went through high shool in the 80's, so I guess I missed it.
