Fat Copper Ring (Not the finger kind)

When I dug this, I though FOR SURE I was digging a silver half or dollar. Alas, it was not to be. This thing is really well made and has a beautiful green patina. Had a post on the bottom that seems to have broken off. Interior of the ring is rounded. Outside diameter: 2 and 1/8 inches, 5/8 inch thick. The last pic MIGHT be a maker's mark, I think I can see the letters "AR", but it may be my eye playing tricks on me

I suspect it is a rein guide off of a harness.

I just googled some pics and while none are an exact match, I'm sold. From the amount of harness buckles I'm finding at this site, I don't doubt they broke a rein guide. Thanks!
