Fascinating find in the foothills

We were just out for a hike up in the desert foothills on the east side of town, not specifically looking for anything but we found some weird anything anyway. The coin was the oddity, we find gun casings all over creation and my partner picks them up. The coin was an eyeball find, all of it was but the coin stood out especially considering the completely arbitrary point along a dirt trail under a scrubby juniper where I spotted it. I picked it up and was like, what the hell? It's got Greek writing on it! It's also stamped with a big 50 and 1999 as the date. It turned out to be a Bulgarian 50 stotinki piece. Just on the side of a rugged desert trail in central new mexico, ya know, happens all the time lol. Totally random. Excuse the hair, it insisted on being in the photo.

A very cool foreign coin - congrats !
I find pesos and Canadian coin regularly enough on the ground or in circulation but this really was a left field find. A Bulgarian 50 cent piece? In a semi remote desert area to boot. Strange luck I tell you what, very strange. And of course the "Greek" writing is actually Cyrillic which makes sense, it had a very Greek look to it at the initial glance
