Saturday morning I started out hunting this abandoned farmhouse but failed to make any interesting finds. This house has been empty for a number of years already, so the fact that finds were non-excistant was of no surprise. I then noticed the field behind the house was being harvested of its soybean crop, so I patiently waited for the Combine to empty it's load into the waiting dump truck. I then was able to chat with the farmer and got permission to detect the field after he was finished the harvest. I started by hunting the areas closest to the farmhouse, this is where I made most of the interesting finds. Not that the finds were that great, but at least they're interesting!
My finds for 6 hours were a horse bell, half a brass buckle and part of a 1950 dog license. It sure beat cutting the grass at home though!
Thanks for looking,
Dave
