I've had this farm field permission for a few months. I can't really get into the field till after harvest. There were two homes on the property, one early 1900's and the other late early 1800's. I took a swing by the 1900's house area and realized I could get into a small area. Mostly trash mid tone items. My wife was finding pottery laying on the surface while I was swinging.

Not much but it's a start.

From your finds it looks promising! Good luck on your return hunts!
I think the spot we were in was used by people that just needed somewhere to dump their trash. Lots of total crap lying on the surface. I think once I can get in the field, I'll find some goodies. The 1800's farm buildings and house are in the corn field. My contact will let me know when they till the soil next year so I can get in before they plant.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Finding pottery in the corn field after harvest will be a good clue.

Hit the other part of the property today where the two-story log cabin was. There is a strip of grass about 20 feet wide between the field and the road. I decided that was my target for the day. I spent two hours there and found mostly can slaw. Being right of the road it was expected. But I've never before had cans ring up at 46-48 on my legend. That trash is usually in the lower 30's. The grassy area must have been tilled at one time since I was finding crushed cans 5-6 inches deep.

Lots of iron targets though. I only dug a couple pieces, nothing that old. I can't wait for harvest to get into the fields.

I thought for giggles I'd share some pics.

Your section of tubing reminds me of a different site...

Farmhouse razed and bulldozed quite a ways.
I was swinging a couple hundred yards from where the house used to be digging up pieces of antenna tubing from the pulverized antenna.
Pieces rang up like I was going to be a richer man! Must be dug kind of tone. l.o.l..
