hi everyone,it rained here all weekend so i just sat around and got board.this morning the weather cleared so i decides to go for a drive to a place called TERRIC. it was about a 90 minute drive from where i live and some time ago a picked up a pile of old paper from a clearing sale and when i sorting the papers i noticed an article in this INGLEWOOD TIMES 23 spetember 1873 about a pig farmer, one W.B WICKERS who killed his friend in a drunken rage over the sale of a goat, with a butchers knife.the article didn,t tell of the fate of W.B WICKERS.i went to the PUBLIC RECORDS DEPT when i went to MELBOURNE a week ago chasing some other info and had enough time to check out this bloke.i got the location which is known public land.this means i could dig my heart out with needing premission.when i got there it was easy to see that a farm house once stood here by the amount surface trash round the place.it was nice to dig soft ground for a change .so i had a dig for a couple of hours and sorted the trash from the possibles and when m.ded the area.i got 3 silver threepence [english] round the 1900 mark and 2 large pennies.[about the same age] heep of copper relics and a 1900 longmores salad oil bottle.it had a big M on the bottom that comfirmed its age.that mark was used from 1899-1910.reference http://www.sli.unimelb.edu.au.when i was filling my hole i found a square piece of copper about 4 inches long.having a closer look i relized that it was an old match box holder with WHITELOCK @CARTER TAILORS [BENDIGO] OPP G.P.O printed on it.took about an hour to clean up.this really made my day.heres some pics of the site and finds tinpan
