Looks like it come of something we call a sandfighter. Several were placed in a row and drug behind tractor to keep sand on the surface from blowing around, also acted as a cultivator. Kind of a multipurpose tool. Cool decorative piece!

Look up rotary hoe, thats what we had here when i farmed. I have changed a lot of them through the years and replaced bearings also.
Now, they use them as decorations..lol..
I see them around here for 15-20 bucks each.
 

Yes, it off of a rotary hoe. I see them listed on Ebay under steampunk for 15 to 25 dollars each.

Mom had an old small one setting back in the weeds behind the barn. It had around 40 of the spiked wheels on it and I was going to dismantle it for Ebay auctions this winter. I went to pull it out the other day and it was gone. I asked Mom about it and she said "that old thing", I gave it to some guy looking for scrap.:BangHead:
