farm finds--large copper & larger copper medallion

not a US cent, roasted like a Butterball, medallion has Indian with a hatchet, other side is . coin is 7.6 grams at 1 3/32", medal is 9 grams at 1 1/4". all opinions welcome 2 more bird bands and a state quarter rain today, back for more Tues.

Who knows it could be a fur trade item from 1700 or 1800's.

The reverse of your medallion is another Native American Brave with feathers in his headdress next to a piece of wampum. (In my most humble, uneducated, layman's opinion...) That is a very cool relic and possibly a fur trade item, or peace medallion, congrats! Sub

MYSTERY SOLVED by DCMATT after posting in "what is it"? the medallion is Improved Order of Red Men watch fob, circa post 1834. a pre- Rev. War fraternal organization promoting patriotism.
