Dug a .20 guage Stevens shotgun next to a razed farmhouse today. Looks to be around a 1930's model. My son dug his first Indian head penney here a few weeks ago. IMG_8887.jpgIMG_8888.jpg

Now that's exciting!! Are you going to try to restore it?

Great find! :icon_thumright:

nah, I'll just clean the dirt and mount it on a piece of barnwood. I like my stuff rusty lol. p.s. sorry about the horrible posting, can't figure out why my photos turn sideways on this site.

Great find s
looks like that area would be a blast!!!

Your pictures are probably sideways because you posted directly from your phone.

Try saving them to your computer first, and then uploading them.

If that fails, downsize the photo some and then try uploading again.

As for the shotgun........nice.

I'm guessing it was used in a crime of some sort, and they had to bury the evidence? LOL..........

Thanks Geobound, that's exactly what I'm doing from the phone. will try your remedy on the next dig!

Or billy was buried and his favorite shotgun was put on top.

Nice!

Nice.... It's been a while since I've found a gun. That will look nice on the wall. I'd be tempted to look for a ratty old stock and fore arm for it.

old stock would be cool, I have a double barrel with stock I found under an old cabin years ago. neat ratty looging stock.

Nice relic to show off
Congrats to the two of you

a little wd-40 and duct tape and you're good to go

Cool find,, I don't think you can classify it as
"Farm Iron" but it is definitely ain't "City Iron" lol
Congrats
