Hoped to have a good showing for the last hunt of the year , but it wasnt in the cards. It rained all day.I braved the elements for a little while at a park, downtown.Had some different finds....a mouthpiece for a tuba?.....A little heart shaped watch at 10".....A 10x jewelers loop, and some type of odd pen?The top comes off and there is a small, glass vial with a brass point on either end..
Confirmed that the site was silver worthy with seven wheats including a 16d, an 18, and a 31d, but every quarter or dime signal was clad??Oh well , its a big park so maybe some other day. I dont go in search for clad but it comes with the territory. The last pic is my 2006 total.
Happy New Year to all and as always ...the best of luck....Joe

First off, congrats on getting out there today and finding all that stuff. A great way to end one year and start a new one.

Second, I doubt that is a tuba mouthpiece, but I don't know what it is. The pen-thingy with the vial in it is quite interesting. Any markings on it at all? It looks like it was expensive.

Third, The loupe appears more to me to be something someone who rockhounds might use. I have something similar to use when rockhounding and metal detecting. It was a cheap-o magnifier I bought to put in my possibles bag when out in the field. If the lens isn't scratched, you could use it for your own field trips. Ciomes in mighty handy.

Finally, nice bottle of coins you got there. Hope the bottom doesn't break. I used to keep my clad in a glass jar, then the bottom broke and glass and coins splattered everywhere. The coins were too heavy for the jar. Needless to say, I was ticked off at myself for not realizing beforehand that the jar wasn't made to withstand so much weight. Started using a heavyduty plastic pickle jar after that little mess--got the one gallon plastic pickle jar from the local fast food joint. Not as nice looking, but safer.

Hope you have a successful 2007.

The pen type thing is scripted only "USA"
The Mouthpiece type thing is scripted "E-Z Tone"
The magnifier is a "Swift 10x"...The lense is mottled ...it is removable so I may try and polish it up.

Jop,

heck you got out. Good way to end the year.

Weather wet down here in Illinois.

With my eyes always carry a jewlers loupe with me.
Not that I would ever do it ::) but I bet
another md'er lost it. ;D Think I have purchased two
or three :P

Nice group of finds. Clad will help buy some
goodies when you decide to cash in ;)

Hope you find a bunch next year.

have a good un......................

Thanks for the additional info. Now I see you were correct in the mouthpiece ID.

The vial thingy has me looking all over the internet for something similar. It's quite intriguing.

WTG. Good day. Good luck in 2007. Happy New Year.

Looks to me like you have one nice collection of coin there! Great job!

WTG Joe! Congrats on the nice assortment of finds, interesting!
A jewelers loop, how cool. Now, all you need is the bag of jewelry that went with it.
Happy New Year my friend, best of luck.

Smiles!
