You lucky *******s who live up in the Motherlode country, CA. I took a trip up there this weekend with my club, Rt66, and just wow. Absolutely amazing the amount of gold you can get up there compared to down here in So. Cal. Below are the results of about 8hrs, 10 buckets half full because I had to walk about 150yards from the hole to the river. Long story, but it was crowded so I had to place my sluice a little further downstream. Every bucket had a few good flakes and lots of fly poop and nonetheless I am quite happy about the results. Even the wife was impressed and agreed we could go camping up there again.
I noticed the flakes up there are much larger than the flakes I have gotten here in the East Fork or out in the desert.
Aside from the gold, the campgrounds were nice, people were friendly and the surrounding area was picturesque. Can't wait to go back up!
