Fancy copper with wooden teeth

[Old Finger]

found this out hunting today about 12 inches down. absolutely no clue what it could be. At first I thought maybe a old lighter or makeup thing but not sure. The "teeth" are made out of wood and it has a checker like design with some scroll type stuff in the conners. Completely stumped on this one so any info would be greatly appreciated as always

yea it dose look like one but the wood is what is throwing me off, looks like finger jointed stuff but why in that case

EDIT: Duhh the wood is the matches. thanks a lot. it appeared to be a solid piece of wood and after some cleaning and looking at it closer it is 100% matches and it is also brass so i was wrong 2. again that's for the info
