Famous turtles first attempt at a recent sales video.

Re: Famous turtle's first attempt at a recent sales video.

Nice video. It is amazing some of the stuff that can be turned around for a fantastic profit. Keep up the good work!

Re: Famous turtle's first attempt at a recent sales video.

Another great video Turtle, thanks for the education on this stuff. Keep 'em coming!

PS: I was looking at some of the vintage pyrex glassware items and tupperware that you have up in your store. I see tons of it in the shops around here and the local flea market. Do you find that that stuff sells well? Thanks!

Vintage pyrex sells fairly well, but it doesn't go for that much. You have to find it cheap enough to make it worth your while. Most goodwill type thrift stores charge too much to make a profit off of them, but if you can find pieces at garage sales you can make a profit.

The tupperware was more of a test. I did end up selling a 20ish pc lot for around $30.00 but there is so much of it on ebay that I don't think it is worth the trouble.

Re: Famous turtle's first attempt at a recent sales video.

I tried to watch the video, but I had to stop about 2.5min in. You talk WAY too much.

I'd rather see pics or just a link to completed auctions.

I know everybody will disagree with me, but I guess I'm not the kind of person that likes to stop everything I'm doing to watch a video when I could multitask and scan through some pics in 30 seconds while watching tv.

Hopefully this forum doesn't become like the finds forum where everybody thinks they need a 10min video of their day to show off that they found 3 wheat pennies and a mercury dime.

Re: Famous turtle's first attempt at a recent sales video.

I fall somewhere in between bazinga and everyone else. A video of fading pics with music and price overlays wouldn't be too bad and much faster.

I do agree pics and prices are best, but I'm happy to take your secrets any way you want to give them away ;D

EXCELLENT VIDEO!!!!!

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

Short and sweet, PACKED with EXCELLENT picking information.

If you keep these videos up...I might just become a millionaire. I've learned more from your vids than anyone other YouTuber. Sure, I pick up tid-bits here and there from the others in the picking community, but your videos are the BEST!

BTW, I'm going to keep watching, even though I am the biggest failure in the world with video games. I'm not sure I will ever buy another video game or system. I have literally lost money on each and every system and or game that I've ever picked up. LOL at me, but it is true!!!

I wouldn't have known to check shirts and coats for moth holes using a lamp! Thanks for that tid-bit!!!!

Keep up the EXCELLENT work!!!!!

FTT talking too much??? Really? You haven't watched the other picker's videos. Some of those guys get on rants and tangents that last 10 minutes, and barely cover any info about their picks. Check out redneckpicker or Glendon007 sometime. Those guys talk too much.

The real problem with showing pics only of their picks is this:

Someone shows a picture of a cool Lionel 2056 engine they scored at a yard sale. They add some words to overlay on their crappy photos that read "Picked $25.00. Sold $79.00".

Well that is all fine and dandy, but what did you learn? Was this a post war original, or a new re-pop by Lionel? How can you tell? Did it run? Did it have a whistle tender? What was the condition? Would it have sold for more if you would have listed it differently? If it was a real post war model, would it have sold for more if sold as parts?

If I am going to waste time looking at crappy pictures streamed into a video, I learn more by looking at completed listings on ebay.

The one point I agree with...YT doesn't need another "Look what I picked today...a copy of People magazine from 1994 with a picture of Jerry Seinfeld on page 47. Picked for 25 cents, sold for 2.99 with free shipping." Or, I found a used Kwickset doorknob set. Thought I would take a chance on it for $3. This should pull down 5.99 on ebay if I throw in free shipping. A nice pick for a slow Saturday."

Re: Famous turtle's first attempt at a recent sales video.

There is a simple solution to this problem Bazinga / Bscofield / Brian is to stay out of my threads.

They are meant to help others, if you don't have anything good to say, don't say it at all.

BTW is ebay blowing up for anyone else?

Re: Famous turtle's first attempt at a recent sales video.

Is ebay blowing up?

Are you asking if my sales are D-E-A-D?

I've had pretty slow sales for several months...but they are as dead as a door nail, as they say around here. I mean super DEAD.

I used to sell $100 to $150 each and every day. This week, I just broke $101 for my past seven days, and I felt luck to get $40 worth of that in sales today.

Re: Famous turtle's first attempt at a recent sales video.

Damn sorry to hear that, actually I meant the opposite. :dontknow:

Re: Famous turtle's first attempt at a recent sales video.

Yeah...I hate it too.

I like your latest video. Keep up the great work!
