False signals?

I have been hunting with my Prizm III set at foil disc and 3-5 bars of sens. I have been getting a lot of faint penny to quarter signals. I then max out the disc and the signal is still there. When I try to pinpoint in "all metal" the signal disappears although there are other "all metal" targets within 3"-6". Most of the signals range in the 4"-8" depth. The signals will only read in one direction. Could the target be "masked" in the "all metal" by the other targets? Is this a false signal? If good, is there a way to pinpoint in all metal without digging everytime in the vicinity?

Thanks for any advice,

Bill

first change your batteries, if it still does that turn down the sens, you may be picking up electrical interference
also, if you pick it up one and not the other, it might be junk. turn 90 degrees to the target and try again
