I had a few hours of daylight remaining, with threatening skies, so I went to the nearby soccer field complex I've hunted many times over the last 18 months. I was using a modified coin/jewelry program with the AC ramped to 80 and the DC to 40 to see if I could locate deeper coins in an area I'd already hunted in the past. The wind was really blowing, 20-25 mph, so I really had to concentrate to hear the tones. After about 30 minutes, I got a weak tone, VDI in the high 40's about 6 inches deep. When I finally located the target, the coin, dated 1904, was about the same size as a half dime, but the finish was like that of a sacgawea dollar and an Indian face was looking at me The reverse side indicated it was a copy, so when I got home I googled it. Sure enough, these replicas were being offerred on various sites for different amounts, but in reality, they're pretty much worthless. Anyone else find any of these?
I did find 22 real coins for $2.01 and a real button. Thanks for looking.
