Fairburn Agate

This is the first Fairburn Agate I ever found many years ago, after I became familiar with what I was looking for. This is about the size of a large duck egg and weighs 3/4 of a pound. Have been hooked on hunting for those elusive Fairburns ever since.
 

That is an amazing agate! Never heard of it before. Now I have to do some research.

The area for finding Fairburn Agates is very small. Western South Dakota and Northwestern Nebraska. A few have been found in Wyoming just west of southwestern S. Dak.

That is very cool! I have heard the name, a few times, but I have never seen one.

OK, heres another. Nice vibrant reds with clear fortification patterns on both sides. This one measures 4" across by 2 1/2".
