Whilst Cru'dad was asking permission for a small horse paddock field, the owner told him about an area where the oilseed rape had failed. As luck would have it, it was a good 2 acres worth. Although its not a field we would normally do, we would take anything at the moment.
We did 4.5 hours today, although had to go for cover after the first 2 hours due to the heat:tongue3: I've said it before, I prefer rain than sun.
Although we managed 98 buttons, we only had 1 blank halfpenny:icon_scratch:
1 Complete Crotal Bell
Some good buttons including some Livery types
Bits...

We have covered about 1/3rd of the area, but we will try a different plan tomorrow:thumbsup:

No kidding. Do you display them in some manner.

I have rotated some in the local museum, but most are just sorted & stored. The plain & 4 hole are not kept, just counted for fun.

That's amazing. I would put them in a glass jar and show them off.

Not a bad plan to occasionally try a place you would not normally do. Sometimes there will be surprises. :) Still great to get out and dig this time of year.

Cheers,

Buckles

lots of nice history there Crusader, I would love to see some of your glass displays posted up some time in the future
Well done!!! :sunny:

Still 2/3rd's of the area left, so still hoping for at least 1 surprise.

It's half a day, but still OK, when the season is up & running I aim for a 7-11 hour day:thumbsup:
