The F80 is known as the Shooting Star and has been out since 1949. It was replaced by the F84 Thunderjet and the F86 Saber for use in the Korean War. Most of the old F80s were recomissioned into a two seater and used for pilot training and renamed the T33. The T33 was finally retired in 1962 and 1963 and replaced by the supersonic T38 trainer. The T38 in it's fighter role was known as the F5 Talon. All you ever wanted to know about the Lineage of the F80. Monty

Fisher has their 80th anniversary in the year 2011. It makes sense they would come out with a model called the F80. They came out with the F75 for their 75th anniversary. I predict it will be the F75 LTD improved, but it won't be a special edition or an LTD. Just my opinion...

If they do an F80 special I want them to go retro, a CZ-5 with a sweet DD coil! Gimme back that analog needle!
