F4 pinpoint mode

looking for a little help, My F4 when I hit the pinpoint button it goes into pinpoint mode, but the only way to get out of pinpoint mode seems to be to turn the machine off then back on. After your in pinpoint mode subsequent presses of the pinpoint button does nothing. Is this the way the machine is supposed to operate? or is there a problem.

There is a problem with the button not returning.

I saw a guy on youtube hit the disc button after pinpointing and it turned off pinpoint.
I don't have an F4 so I am not sure if this is the way to do it, but it might work?
Sandman knows his stuff and I'm sure he is correct.

Aside from doing a total reset by holding down the power button till you hear the beeps, you can send it in for a check up if your really worried about it.

You don't have to turn it off and back on. Pressing the pinpoint button again to try and get off of it will not do nothing. This is normal. You have to press the DISC button if you are using the discriminate and not all metal mode. That way if you have notched out any metals, you wont loose those settings. Turning it off and back on will reset your previous notch settings or if you are detecting all metals with no notching.
