"F" word while making a loan payment

Greetings....

I am a member at a Credit Union where I have a loan. I would make a payment of between 5$ & $10 while they count my dump dimes. After a few times, they said that they would be charging me 1% for counting the coin while I am making an additional payment to my loan.

Well I didn't like this, so now I am paying them in ones. While counting out the single 300+ dollars the teller said that they could put the ones in their counting machine, I asked if they were going to charge me for the use of the Bill counting machine. she said "No, that is free".
Hummmm....

so I asked if the charge all of their customers the 1% and she said "no, not all".... I said that that sounds prejudiced..... she didn't comment.


any thoughts?

Let me think about this for a minute. Sounds like someone is trying to rip you off. Then goes on to tell you that they don't rip anyone else off but you. That's kind of like robbing you and, calling you a dumbass at the same time. She probably would have pocketed the 1% fee had you paid it.

Can't blame them for fees if they have to count loose dimes by hand.

the thing is that they have a coin counter and use it for all coin but they don't charge everyone, I am making a payment to my loan... for a 1% FEE but offer me to count my ones in the bill counter... WTF

Hahaha, too funny. Probably though that because thats all he deals with all day....felons. The likes of him and his ilk.

If I were you and if you want to search dimes.. get a dime box with clear plastic wraps.. The ones that don't have keepers.. just return them.. they only count the rolls in that case.. as for the ones with keepers.. I just open the clear plastic wrap slowly by pushing out one dime at a time until I get to the keeper. I then insert a replacement dime... and there you have it (this can all be learned if you practice carefully). I usually return the box afterwards, they count the rolls and give me the cash. That is the easiest way to do dimes. There's no way I would get a box with paper rolls where I have to open each roll and send it back loose. I don't blame them for the fee if you have that much in loose dimes. What a headache that would be.
