The last video, โ€œAlmost all whiteโ€ฆโ€ starts out in Pana. Pronounced Payโ€™-na! Pana, Witt, Nokomis and Irving were there because of the coal mines. By the 50s-60s the mines were played out. Now itโ€™s agriculture and that only requires half the people from coal mining days. If the videographer had gone the other direction on Rt. 16 he would have come to Shelbyville and Mattoon. Neither are coal towns and they are doing just fine.
